“WOMEN, OH WOMEN, DON'T SIT THERE,
DO SOMETHING POSITIVE”

THINK
After fourteen years of civil war, Liberian women reached their breaking point. Their rallying cry—"Women, Oh Women, don’t sit there, do something positive"—rang out in crowded gatherings, blazed across banners, and filled the streets. Under the scorching sun, they sat in protest. Their declaration meant they would no longer be passive victims of war but active forces of change.

Three women, determined to answer the call to "do something positive," turned those words into action. On April 4, 2003, they founded Touching Humanity in Need of Kindness (THINK), Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to defending the rights and restoring the dignity of women and children impacted by conflict.

Their mission was to help women and children by providing protection, education, and opportunities for self-sufficiency, fostering resilient communities where they can thrive.
Two decades later, THINK remains steadfast in its mission to protect and empower at-risk women and girls. The organization upholds its founding values, providing safety, support, and opportunities for those who most need it. Through advocacy, education, and rehabilitation, THINK ensures vulnerable individuals can reclaim their dignity and build brighter futures.

THINK Liberia
The U.S.-based nonprofit Think-Liberia, established in 2012, serves as the support arm for THINK (Touching Humanity in Need of Kindness), the Liberia-based NGO committed to protecting and empowering vulnerable women and children.
While THINK operates on the ground in Liberia, providing direct services such as shelter, education, and advocacy, Think-Liberia works internationally to raise awareness, secure funding, and strengthen the organization’s impact.

Through partnerships, fundraising efforts, and outreach initiatives, Think-Liberia ensures that survivors of gender-based violence, exploitation, and abandonment receive the resources they need to heal and rebuild their lives.
By bridging international support with local action, Think Liberia plays a vital role in sustaining THINK’s mission.
Together, these organizations provide a lifeline for Liberia’s most vulnerable, offering hope, protection, and the opportunity for a brighter future.
